Autumn Afternoon Adventure in Buena Vista, Colorado

This couple with their three dogs lucked out with gorgeous weather for their afternoon adventure session in Buena Vista, Colorado. We first met at the trailhead for one of their favorite hikes. After we hiked a short distance, we returned to our cars and drove to Cottonwood Lake. As if by magic, we caught the last of the day’s rays of sunshine as clouds rolled into the mountains. It was beautiful! Their dogs had lots of personality and were fun to wrangle, too. It was so nice meeting and working with this local couple!

Summer Love Adventure Session in Buena Vista, Colorado

Dana and Michael traveled all the way from the East Coast to Colorado with their three adorable small dogs for a vacation this summer. I’m so glad they contacted me about doing an adventure session with their dogs. Now they have photos of their love and family in one of their favorite places! Mountain Sunset Adventure Engagement Session in Salida, Colorado

Kirsten and Mike are a local Salida couple who hiked Mount Ouray for their first date two years ago. We decided to explore the Arkansas Hills in Salida for their engagement session, which provided gorgeous views of town, Mount Ouray, and the Collegiate Peaks. Months ago, I found a ridge line that I knew would be perfect for a sunset mountain silhouette. I’m so glad Kirsten and Mike trusted me and we had a blast!

Natural Creekside Backyard Family Adventure Session in Salida, Colorado

After the Thanksgiving holiday, I captured this extended family in their creekside backyard surrounded by the National Forest in Salida, Colorado. We made sure to capture them next to the historic barn on the property and explore down to the creek, too. It just goes to show you don’t have to go on a hike for an outdoor family adventure. We found so many different backdrops for photos from rustic fences to their beautiful aspens.

Foggy Beach Family Adventure with a Dog-Loving Couple in Kittery, Maine

Although there’s no blue ocean in sight, I loved getting to capture the foggy Maine shore. We rescheduled this shoot due to rain and got fog instead. It ended up working in our favor because it meant no one was at the beach on a Saturday evening in August. Plus, the lighting and the fog was gorgeous!

In the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Salida, Colorado beneath the gaze of beautiful Mount Shavano in the Sawatch Range, I met a sweet and fun loving family for a winter outdoor adventure session. We even had tea time with cookies, a family tradition on every outdoor excursion. This isn’t a requirement for future shoots but it’s a damn good idea!

The moody fog and yellow leaves certainly made up for the lack of golden sun at my first photoshoot in Golden, Colorado. We met up by the Clear Creek river trail where they often go to grab coffee and go for walks with their dog.
