Golden Hour Aspen Adventure with a Dog-Loving Couple in Salida, Colorado

Val and Niko and their two dogs, Maci and Mocha, came up to Salida for an early morning hike to soak in the late September aspen color. I hope you can handle the amount of yellow and gold in this blog post! It was a chilly morning, but the hike warmed us up. After a quick hike we got to play in the aspens creating all kinds of fun portraits and candids in the golden light.

I’m so grateful I got to meet Val through Taylor Jones Photography’s coaching group earlier this year and we became fast friends. My dog, Solstice, came along for the hike and managed to not photobomb too many of these shots. You should see the outtakes, though. ;) Maci and Solstice loved playing together, but shy Mocha sweetly stuck by her mom and dad.

Since we mixed work and play, we spent way longer than my normal 2 hour window for the golden hour aspen adventure. They really helped me find all the best spots in this location. So, when you book my aspen adventure in the future, we can make the most of your time!
