Autumn Afternoon Adventure in Buena Vista, Colorado

This couple with their three dogs lucked out with gorgeous weather for their afternoon adventure session in Buena Vista, Colorado. We first met at the trailhead for one of their favorite hikes. After we hiked a short distance, we returned to our cars and drove to Cottonwood Lake. As if by magic, we caught the last of the day’s rays of sunshine as clouds rolled into the mountains. It was beautiful! Their dogs had lots of personality and were fun to wrangle, too. It was so nice meeting and working with this local couple!

I met this family first thing in the morning on a beautiful, golden-leaf-lined trail by the Arkansas River in Salida. It had great autumn colors and stunning morning light. We explored the little paths here and there and ended the session on the riverbed itself.
