Autumn Morning by the River Family Adventure in Salida, Colorado

If you’ve got a puffy-jacket loving family, don’t worry about booking a morning adventure session in the fall! We knew it would be chilly and went with it. Aren’t the color combinations fun, though? I met this family first thing in the morning on a beautiful, golden-leaf-lined trail by the Arkansas River in Salida. It had great autumn colors and stunning morning light. We explored the little paths here and there and ended the session on the riverbed itself. In the autumn, water flow is low enough to expose river rocks on the river’s edge. We captured a few photos without coats, but this toddler didn’t want to show off her awesome Carhartt overalls for too long. I’m glad we got “S Mountain” aka Tenderfoot Mountain in the last shots, though. I found out the little one thinks it’s HER mountain because her name starts with an “S.” I love it.
