4th Annual Moose Mountains RunAround and Kids Snowshoe Shuffle

Bright sunlight. 4 inches of fresh powder. Just over a mile of trail weaving through stunning hemlock-beech-oak-pine forest. An intrepid crowd of snowshoe racers made their way around the course loop twice at a local ski area in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Audubon celebrated 100 years in 2014 with their partner, the Student Conservation Association (SCA) NH Conservation Corps. I attended the community-wide Earth Day event featuring high school volunteers from Manchester who helped prep the 4-H garden at the Massabesic Audubon Center for the growing season.

I took a journey down to Sandwich, MA to visit Hidden Hollow, a certified Nature Explore Classroom that is a part of Heritage Museums & Gardens. My good friend and I visited Hidden Hollow and met with its director to get some inspiration for a similar project at an environmental education center in New Hampshire. One year later, Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center revealed plans for their own natural playscape
