Glacier National Park Elopement in Whitefish, Montana

I was so excited when my cousin, Sam, asked me to photograph her Glacier National Park elopement in Whitefish, Montana last June. I arrived a few days early and on my first morning, Sam and her fiancé, Lincoln, took me on an epic hike that included a scenic drive to another part of the park. We saw all kinds of weather on the way to Iceberg Lake from sunshine to rain and snow. It couldn’t have been more dynamic and beautiful. We looked for wildlife the whole way, but it wasn’t until we arrived back in the trailhead parking area that we saw people gathering to look at a blonde bear on a hillside some distance away. It was very cool!

Sam and Lincoln got married on the summer solstice at the edge of Lake McDonald. After getting ready at home, I captured their first look in their backyard and beautiful garden! Their ceremony was sweet, funny, and tear-filled as close family (and pups) looked on. Afterwards, we drove to a few spots around the park for portraits. We saw a little bit of sun, but it was mostly foggy and rainy. Everything looked lush and green. After a delicious dinner at a local Italian restaurant, I captured candids of their casual backyard reception.
