Dog-Friendly Couple’s Adventure in the San Luis Valley

This session was such a dream—the perfect mix of earthy tones, sweet pups, and one gorgeous couple.

We started with a few photos at Teal and Jeremy’s property in the San Luis Valley. They have amazing views from a second-story deck, so we set up a cozy hang out spot and captured a few moments in the yard, too. Then, they took me to a scenic location less than 30 minutes from Salida. It’s accessible with a high-clearance vehicle and is tucked away enough that they felt comfortable letting their dogs off leash. Plus, you can’t beat the sweeping views of the valley and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

We had so much fun exploring the landscape together. Their dogs were fantastic! I love nothing more than when folks bring their pups to adventure sessions—after all, they’re part of the family, too. It’s always a joy to photograph four-legged explorers and see each one’s personality shine through. I especially love the tender moments between Teal and her fur babies.

We even found a cool tree stump and captured a some majestic photos with the rising moon! You can really feel the love they have for their pups, the valley, and each other.
