Autumn Sunrise Hike to an Aspen Grove in Salida, Colorado
This was a fun half-day adventure session with the goal to capture Kristina’s love for our region along with her pup, Lucy. Lucy is a rescue from Leadville, Colorado and has been Kristina’s best friend and hiking companion ever since. This was their first professional photoshoot and Kristina booked the half-day adventure to get the full experience and explore some of the scenic variety Colorado has to offer. I felt so honored that she trusted my work and plan for the morning!
We met before sunrise at a trailhead and hiked to an aspen grove and meadow in the mountains. I love having a little time at the start of the shoot to talk and get to know my clients before I start snapping photos. Once the morning golden hour arrived, I didn’t feel rushed, either. After we played in the aspens for a while, we hiked to a nearby waterfall and captured even more photos along the way. Can you tell Kristina and Lucy have a special bond? I think I have a new found love for Chihuahuas too. These photos melt my heart!
